Joel Quenneville

When Denis Savard was fired as Blackhawks coach after only four games last season, many thought the team’s campaign would be a lame duck, but Quenneville took the young squad deep into the playoffs (damn them Red Wings!) against the odds. Say what you will about Ozzie Guillen’s ability to get the most from his club, but let’s face it, the Blackhawks are currently the Chicago team that’s closest to a championship.

Tremendousupsidepotential.com

Not only is the blog’s name perfect, the writing here is more of an unconventional look at sports, written, as the site boasts, “with the focus of Tyrus Thomas and the vocabulary of Ozzie Guillen.” Recent blog posts feature pop-cultural shout-outs to The Postal Service, Jay-Z and Vin Diesel. Sports and humor should always be linked.

Bacon

Of course it’s “Bacon,” coined by Ozzie himself. No one could’ve conjured something more absurd but the skipper. And who’s to argue? “Bend It Like Beckham” and “The Future” have nothing on the delicious treat.

Talk-show host

Says Ozzie: “I’ve got two people here that drive me crazy. They are all over me, and I’m like ‘Shut up, you drunk.’ It’s easy to make moves when you’re drunk.” ; “Throw a rock at me and I will F-16 you.”; “That guy! He molests children!” If you can’t imagine this being dispensed daily as relationship advice, then you take talk shows too seriously.
