Chicago Ideas Week
Perhaps you can’t make it to Southern California for the Technology, Entertainment and Design brainstorming soiree. In all likelihood, you’re not even on the list. But that doesn’t mean you’re stuck listening to TED Talks on headphones in your cubicle. TEDx Windy City promises “a TED-like experience,” and some local wiseacres do NEDTalks (“spreading worthless ideas”). We’re particularly excited about Chicago Ideas Week. Only two years old, the conference includes interactive lab talks, and “Megatalks” held at more than eighty locations throughout the city. It’s bound to get bigger and bigger names. We hope it stays brainy without taking on TED’s elitist sheen.
