Josef Strau, Renaissance Society
U of C’s Ren heads into its centennial year with Strau’s installation “The New World Application for Turtle Island” which digs into the cultural strata of the North American continent before and after European colonization through deconstructive tableau of found objects, text and ceramics. Strau’s intriguing project is shining proof of the Ren’s persistent commitment to intelligent inquiry and experimental materialities in art.
