Who would have thought a craft-fashion mashup event in the city’s remote West Loop neighborhood could generate the heat and sizzle of the energetic Dose Market? People line up down the block for this one-day event, stationed in a cavernous space at 401 North Morgan. Radiating at the upper-end of the term “craft,” the style and vigor of this event’s vendors are of a kind with to rival the diversity of an Anthropologie, with food, booze and fun. Bringing together a selected group of “makers, bakers, chefs, designers and artists” in one space, you can do everything from buy tins of beard wax from Merlin’s Beard Company, schedule cooking classes with local kitchenware store The Chopping Block, and meet the very newest designers, such as Cincinnati’s Artfully Disheveled, who launched their brand at September’s Dose Bomb.
