Method Soap Factory in Pullman
The Method Soap factory, opened in the underutilized Pullman neighborhood, has created a sustainable microcosm. The factory runs on efficiency, concerned with worker and environmental safety. They’ve reduced transit emissions by housing manufacturing and packing under one roof. Wind turbine and solar panel offsets provide enough energy to run their equipment in shifts. Manufacturing equipment is operated on an automated process to create a safer work environment. And it has the largest rooftop garden in the world, managed by Gotham Greens, growing produce and insulating the building from heat absorption and loss.
